Lumber & Building Materials Sales Associate
Uresco Construction Materials, a family owned & operated, local construction supply company, is looking for a Lumber and Building Materials Sales Associate to join our Anchorage team. The ideal applicant gets excited about helping and listening to our customers and providing the service, expertise and products that will complete their project no matter how big or small from start to finish.
Sales Associate Essential Functions
- Accurately processes sales orders, enters quotes and completes bids.
- Ask questions to understand the needs of customers and recommends product solutions.
- Checks prices and stock availability, quote information as requested.
- Completes special orders, arranges shipping and follows up to confirm receipt of product.
- Prepare purchase orders with our vendors to order the merchandise requested by the customer.
- Track the status of orders, shipping dates, delivery dates and keep the customer informed.
- Respond to customers' requests via telephone, e-mail or in person.
- Sales focused with confidence in approaching and acquiring new customers.
- Makes calls to existing, inactive and potential customers to solicit new business.
- Communicates low or out of stock materials to purchasing.
- Maintains current knowledge of company products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
- Understanding of lumber, steel studs, roofing, insulation, hardware and other building materials through previous sales or work experience
