Summary/Objective

The Contract Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and managing warranty claims. Contract Management:

-Review, draft, and negotiate supplier contracts to ensure they meet organizational standards and objectives.
-Monitor and enforce compliance with supplier obligations and contract terms.
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
-Perform regular audits of supplier performance and contract adherence.
Warranty Claims:

-Manage the warranty claims process, from initial submission to resolution.
-Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to gather necessary documentation and evidence for claims.
 
-Track and analyze warranty claim trends to identify potential areas for improvement.
-Ensure timely and accurate submission of warranty claims to maximize recovery and minimize financial impact.

Position Description

Reporting and Documentation:

-Prepare and present reports on contract performance, supplier compliance, and warranty claim status to the Head of Supply Chain and other stakeholders.
-Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all contract-related documentation and warranty claims.
Continuous Improvement:

-Identify opportunities for process improvements in contract management and warranty claim handling.
-Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends to enhance contract management strategies.
 

Competencies

-Strong understanding of contract law, supplier agreements, and warranty claim processes.
-Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no direct reports.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment and in the field at the power generation plants. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and personal protective equipment as may be required during plant visits.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Primary Work Location

USA-Texas-Houston

Expected Hours of Work

Days and hours of work are established between the employee and the supervisor

Travel

Up to 25%. Travel to the power generation facilities, project sites, supplier offices, and JERA’s offices in North America may be required.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

-A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field.
-3+ years of experience with submitting warranty claims.
-5+ years of experience in contract management, preferably within a supply chain or procurement environment.
 

Preferred Education and Additional Eligibility Qualifications

-Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)) is a plus.
