Candidates can expect to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to enable development of next generation life science instruments.  Candidates will perform testing and analysis of component and systems to validate research and correlate mechanical models.  Candidates may have the opportunity to perform root-cause investigations on systems and test beds to correct problems and improve product quality and reliability. This position will be responsible for repeated performance testing of multiple lots of a single component in an instrument and test bed. Ultimately identifying the part to part and lot to lot variance in an instrument as well as correlating that performance to the standalone test bed.

 

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Install component under test into a functioning instrument and test bed repeated across a large quantity of parts
  • Gather, organize and communicate data from testing
  • Correllate instrument performance to test bed performance
  • Update test bed to bring instrument and test bed performance into equal or relatable performance
  • Identify inconsistencies in data and propose solutions
  • Identify inefficiencies in testing and propose solutions
  • Generate and release engineering documentation (initial assembly procedures, installation instructions, test reports, etc.) to support the development and manufacture of world class life science instruments
  • Set up and maintain assembly stations, tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and test fixtures

What You Bring:

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or higher; or working towards engineering degree. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.Knowledge of and application of principles and theories of engineering.
  • General understanding of instrument assembly.
  • Strong communication, technical, and computer skills.
  • Coordination, tact and teamwork.
  • CAD experience, SolidWorks experience is a plus.
  • Problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (18kg).

Compensation: The estimated hourly rate for this position is $25 to $40 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.  As a temporary associate, your employment will be managed directly through our approved agency provider.
