R&D Mechanical Engineer Technician

- Install component under test into a functioning instrument and test bed repeated across a large quantity of parts
- Gather, organize and communicate data from testing
- Correlate instrument performance to test bed performance
- Update test bed to bring instrument and test bed performance into equal or relatable performance
- Identify inconsistencies in data and propose solutions
- Identify inefficiencies in testing and propose solutions
- Generate and release engineering documentation (initial assembly procedures, installation instructions, test reports, etc.) to support the development and manufacture of world class life science instruments
- Set up and maintain assembly stations, tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and test fixtures
- Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or higher; or working towards engineering degree. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of and application of principles and theories of engineering.
- General understanding of instrument assembly.
- Strong communication, technical, and computer skills.
- Coordination, tact and teamwork.
- CAD experience, SolidWorks experience is a plus.
- Problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble instruments.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (18kg).
