What to Expect

The New Programs Engineering team works at the front-end of vehicle design and development, working in an iterative environment to study, simulate, build, and prove Tesla’s future generation of vehicles. This position will interact with many cross-functional teams from the Design, Vehicle Engineering, Powertrain Engineering, Firmware, Fabrication, CNC, and Technician teams in creating different prototypes for engineering development. The role will encompass all aspects of leading prototype vehicle projects through design, build, and FW bring up phase of a project. Applying first principles approach to problem solving tight timelines, design changes, and material management.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with cross functional team to create and maintain schedules through all phases of prototype vehicle projects
  • Report out status, risks, and changes of project timeline to end users
  • Manage Bill of Materials working with engineering team to acquiring parts for vehicle builds
  • Support team with ordering of hard to acquire parts, tools, and materials for cross functional team
  • Support planning of test schedules and logistics of prototype vehicles
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Experience in project managing hardware systems
  • Familiarity with general automotive systems ranging from electrical systems to various mechanical systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping, organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel
  • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, technician, fabrication, and supply chain personnel
  • Experienced with JIRA and Confluence is preferred
