Program Manager Job Description

The Program Manager's primary responsibility is converting and retaining students that apply for programs in their designated program portfolio. This is achieved by assisting enrolled participants with program related questions, application procedures and other tasks, treating every student like family, as they prepare to study, intern, or serve abroad on one of our programs. While students are our primary client, Program Managers will also engage with contacts from the U.S. University and family members of participants. Our Experiential Programs team believes in the lifechanging capacity of studying and interning abroad and embraces that statement with total enthusiasm.

Program Manager Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a relationship with students and family throughout the entire experience abroad, including advising on internship or service-learning placements, travel logistics, and accommodation options.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of program portfolio to accurately advise.
  • Answer questions and provide excellent customer service either in person or via phone and email.
  • Assist in aspects of advertising and marketing our programs to students and universities.
  • Occasional travel for on campus promotion to prospective students and some potential international travel for program delivery.
  • Successfully guide students through our enrollment and pre-departure process which includes placement coordination, visa assistance, booking flights, securing accommodation and completing contracts.
  • Work closely with on-site staff members and placement coordinators for programming purposes.
  • Coordinate and confirm internship and service-learning placement assignments prior to departure.
  • Respond quickly and professionally, handling communication with parents, students, and/or advisors, any on-site incident reports involving students' host organization or placement assignment
  • Meet the KPI needs of the position and additional project deadlines assigned by management.
  • Serve as on-call staff member for one week approximately once every year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Prior experience living, working, studying abroad, or international travel highly desirable
  • Excellent communication including strong written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, helpful, and friendly attitude
  • A willingness to take on new tasks outside of the given job description
  • Team player who has demonstrated the ability to work cross- functionally and collaboratively with diverse groups of students and professionals
  • Excellent ability to organize and accomplish multiple competing tasks autonomously and efficiently with superior time management skills while attentive to details
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience living or working in Spain and/or Ireland
  • Spanish language skills
  • Customer service experience
