Job Summary:
We are looking for an outgoing and driven candidate to join our Team as the Training Manager for our Sioux Falls Training Facility You will get to work with outstanding leadership and train new wind technician teams every week. The main objective of this position is to support and manage the Training Facility fostering a positive culture in the training department, GWO, and Safety Training departments. Success is defined as positively bringing and maintaining a culture of teamwork and continual improvement.
Our Trainers are the first people to establish safe work behaviors for our new wind technician team members. Our Trainers are responsible for training new wind technicians and conducting refresher training or specific technical trainings with existing employees. This position also develops and implements training that will promote a safe work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Ensure that new and current staff comply with policies, procedures, and best practices.Oversee day to day operations and ensure that new and current staff comply with policies, procedures, and best practices.Is responsible for establishing professional development goals and plans for training staff. Provide solution to issues (e.g. employee conflict, training volume decline).Prepare and deliver training staff annual performance reviews.Job Responsibilities:
Research, plan, organize, and deliver safety and technical training programs to employees.Deliver orientation to new wind technicians employees.Maintain proper wind certifications for employees and ensures individual training is up to date.Ensure monthly compliance for all equipment.Completes required internal and external incident and injury reporting.Draft reports for sharing best practices and missed opportunities for training improvement.Assist quality/engineering department with technical documentation.Stop operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.Conduct inspections and audits to assess workplace and employee compliance with current regulations.Identify and assist in building and maintaining systems and processes to improve redundant tasks. Learn and maintain a running knowledge of relevant training standards (e.g. GWO standards).Assist in curriculum or content development and approvals. Assist in building/updating organization-wide training libraries or document repositories. Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements
Job Qualifications:
This position is on-site and based at our Sioux Falls, SD training facility. Relocation assistance may be available.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient in technology and equipment used for relevant training and inspections.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience:
High School DiplomaAssociates or Bachelor degrees preferred. Three years of related training or work experience preferred.100+ hours of formal training experience preferred.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking in potential extreme weather.Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds unassisted at times.Must be able to climb up and down a ladder up to heights of 300 feet (must not exceed 310lbs. with gear for safety requirements).Must be able to enter and exit tight areas for purpose of audits.Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.Ability to travel and utilize company vehicles (Driving record must not prohibit driving company vehicles)
