At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

Jacobs Northwest Ecosystem Restoration, Science and Planning group seeks early-career environmental scientists and field technicians with the desire to learn and grow in the environmental field. This work involves providing support in multiple areas, including groundwater recharge and water resource projects, stream restoration and fish passage, biology, field surveys and delineations, reporting, and project coordination. In this role, your duties will include coordination with Jacobs environmental project managers, desktop and research, resource evaluations, mapping, and other field tasks as assigned. Using your experience, you’ll serve as a member of a team to complete scientific evaluation and documentation for restoration projects in the Northwest. You’ll work outdoors in remote locations and for extended periods under all weather conditions, often traversing rugged terrain. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects and with clients in both the public and private sectors, often working on multiple projects at a time. Your ability to write clearly and professionally is very important. Familiarity with the use of GPS units (Trimble) and tablets (Collector) will be vital.

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree

• A minimum of one year experience in the field

• Knowledge of computers and GPS equipment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Organizational and time management skills to effectively complete assigned workload within defined timelines and in accordance with established standards

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience in working on complex environmental projects or studies

• Knowledge of Northwest flora and fauna
