Job Title: Health Officer Reserve

Yakima Health District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Officer Reserve to join our team. As a Health Officer Reserve, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of public health services and programs in our community.

Job Summary:

The Health Officer Reserve will provide medical oversight, issue medical orders, review cases, and make recommendations in the absence of the Health Officer. This position requires a strong understanding of public health laws, regulations, and policies, as well as expertise in epidemiology, clinical activities, infectious diseases, and environmental health inspection, enforcement, and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical oversight and issue medical orders in the absence of the Health Officer.
  • Review cases and make recommendations to ensure the continuity of public health services and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with public health laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to provide medical direction during public health emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Health Officer.
Requirements:
  • Must be an experienced physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery or osteopathic medicine and surgery in the state of Washington.
  • Must have a strong understanding of public health laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Must have expertise in epidemiology, clinical activities, infectious diseases, and environmental health inspection, enforcement, and regulations.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with tuberculosis patient care.
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the state of Washington.
  • Licenses required under RCW,.051, and.053.
