We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrologic Technician to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a Hydrologic Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting and analyzing hydrologic data to support water resource management decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze hydrologic data from various sources, including field measurements and remote sensing technologies.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of hydrologic monitoring equipment, including gages and sensors.
- Perform statistical and technical analyses of hydrologic data to identify trends and patterns.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement hydrologic models and forecasting systems.
- Prepare and present data and findings to stakeholders, including government agencies and the public.
- Bachelor's degree in a field such as hydrology, water resources, environmental science, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in hydrologic data collection and analysis, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
This position requires regular travel to field locations, including remote areas with limited access to amenities. The selected candidate must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be willing to adapt to changing circumstances.
