Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrologic Technician to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a Hydrologic Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting and analyzing hydrologic data to support water resource management decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze hydrologic data from various sources, including field measurements and remote sensing technologies.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of hydrologic monitoring equipment, including gages and sensors.
  • Perform statistical and technical analyses of hydrologic data to identify trends and patterns.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement hydrologic models and forecasting systems.
  • Prepare and present data and findings to stakeholders, including government agencies and the public.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field such as hydrology, water resources, environmental science, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in hydrologic data collection and analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular travel to field locations, including remote areas with limited access to amenities. The selected candidate must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be willing to adapt to changing circumstances.
