Overview

This position is responsible for the overall renovation, maintenance, repair, and construction of plumbing systems throughout all properties in Osage Casinos.

This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • Oklahoma Plumbing Journeyman license required.
  • Three (3) years of previous work experience in plumbing installation, repair and maintenance required. Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain and maintain an Osage Nation gaming license.
  • Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.
  • Osage, Native American, and Veteran preference shall apply to all positions at Osage Casinos.

Responsibilities

DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS:

  • Performs skilled plumbing work in the alteration, installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures and systems to maintain plumbing lines in safe and sanitary working condition; ensures compliance with building codes applicable to the plumbing trade.
  • Potable water system installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains valves, pumps, toilets, water heaters, pipes, faucets, flushometer valves, water softeners, and other plumbing equipment.
  • Replace leaking and defective parts in plumbing fixtures.
  • Installs, repairs, maintains, and tests all types of sanitary plumbing systems and equipment, including but not limited to drains, sewers, lift stations, garbage disposals, backwater valves, flush valves, fixtures, etc.
  • Drain and sewer cleaning; removes obstructions from sanitary sewer and storm water systems.
  • Clears obstructions from dishwashers, disposals, pumps, toilets, urinals, and drinking fountains.
  • Repair swimming pool, fountains, natural gas systems, and propane gas systems.
  • Completes emergency repairs to fire sprinkler and hydronic systems.
  • Installs, tests, and maintains backflow
  • Estimates labor, material, and equipment needed for assigned projects; monitors inventory levels of materials and equipment; orders, receives, and maintains inventory of materials and equipment as
  • Plan, organizes, and completes assigned tasks; interprets diagrams, blueprints, sketches, and specifications; works from verbal and written instructions and work orders to install and tests plumbing systems or equipment.
  • Operates a variety of specialized equipment, including digging equipment, concrete cutting and removal equipment, various hand and power tools typically used in the plumbing trade.

  • Maintains work areas and assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly condition, including securing equipment at the close of the workday. Housekeeping is essential when working in public spaces.
  • Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees.
  • Develops reports to be given to upper management.
  • Assist in irrigation system repair.
  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding, operate man lifts.
  • Operates Company vehicles as required, including pulling a work trailer.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with company core values, objectives of the Osage Nation, internal policies and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, ONGR, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Read Company or departmental reports, newsletters, blueprints, and documents.
  • Ability to read measuring devices typically used in the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Perform mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools typically used in the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to operate a man lift.
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing principles and methods. Have a working knowledge of other construction trades.
  • Perform assigned tasks under limited supervision. Work well alone or within a team.
  • Must keep up with current best practices as they relate to the plumbing industry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is typically performed within a casino setting.
  • Exposure to second-hand smoke.
  • Evening and weekend shifts, extended hours and irregular shifts may be required. Ability to work nights, weekends, and after hours for emergency plumbing issues.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between properties and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.
  • Employees may be exposed to chemicals and hazardous material.
