Overview

This position primary responsible is for the overall maintenance, repair, and construction of building systems throughout the Osage Casinos cooperation. Incumbents of positions in this series maintain buildings and related structures applying carpentry techniques and using carpentry tools to construct, alter, repair and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceilings, windows, doors, etc.; inspect buildings to determine need for carpentry repairs or alterations; interpret and/or draw sketches or layouts of work to be done; erect and dismantle staging and scaffolding; and perform related work as required.

Secondary responsibilities include, but aren't limited to, the assisting in the maintenance and repairs of plumbing, electrical, and structural systems, and grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • These employees work from blueprints, drawings, and oral or written.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Six (6) months of previous work experience in Gaming, Hospitality or Customer Service industry preferred.
  • Minimal of two to three years of experience in position related to assigned duties required.
  • Technical school or formal apprenticeship is preferred and may be required based on needs of the operation.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and obtain and maintain an Osage Nation gaming license.
  • Required to maintain a valid Drivers License.
  • Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.
  • Osage, Native American, and Veteran preference shall apply to all positions at Osage Casinos.

Responsibilities

COMMUNICATION:

  • Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.
  • Effectively communicates concerns and information to supervisor and listens to communication from
  • Effectively relates ideas for improvements to supervisor and management in accordance with chain of command.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure compliance.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company
  • Ensures adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and
  • Performs all duties in accordance with company core values, objectives of the Osage Nation, internal
  • policies and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, ONGR, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.

BUSINESS GROWTH/DEVELOPMENT

  • May be required to prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports as required by the reporting senior.
  • Will be required to use CMMS to receive and complete work orders.
DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS
  • Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from leadmen / supervisors.
  • Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, or metal.
  • Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
  • Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete for drive, parking lots, foundation, floors, walkways etc..
  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding, operate man lifts.
  • Installs windows and doors, flooring, trims, etc.
  • Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
  • Operates Company vehicles as
  • Performs emergency maintenance / construction as Develop written reports to be given to upper management on what caused the emergency.
  • Helps other trades as needed, or as required by the Engineering Manager.
  • Must be willing to be called in any time of day or night as required for efficient company operation.
  • To meet company needs, work schedule may change without prior notice.
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer services, always treating internal and external customer with courtesy and consideration.
  • Cooperates and communicates with all fellow employees, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned
  • Must be available after hours for emergencies.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Perform mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools typically used in the carpentry / construction trade.
  • Ability to operate man lifts.
  • Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
  • Daily Attendance is paramount.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English Read Company or departmental reports, newsletters, and documents.
  • Must be able to read construction documents as they relate to the construction trades.
  • Perform assigned tasks under moderate to no supervision.
  • Must keep up with current best practices as they relate to the construction industry.
