The Opportunity

The Florida School of Professional Psychology (FSPP) at National Louis University (NLU) located in Tampa, FL seeks exceptional practitioner-scholar applicants for Full-Time Associate Director of Clinical Training, Clinical Psychology, a core administrative faculty position within our APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program.

Successful candidates will join a cohesive faculty of outstanding practitioner-scholars who share a commitment and passion to training future health-service psychologists and providing psychological services in a diverse community. This is a 40% administrative/60% teaching, twelve-month, full-time position with assigned professional responsibilities for administration, teaching, scholarship, and service.

Ideal applicants will be licensed clinical psychologists with some experience providing supervision or clinical training administration to graduate level psychology students within an academic or clinical training setting. Ideal applicants will also have the ability to teach doctorate-level courses in one or more of the following primary areas:
  • Interventions: intervention courses, integrative psychotherapy course, intervention electives, intervention practicum seminar
  • Psychological Assessment: cognitive assessment, personality assessment, integrative assessment, diagnostic practicum seminar
  • Family Theory and Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Theory and Therapy
  • Clinical Interviewing
  • Psychopathology
  • Statistics
  • Adult Development and Aging or Geropsychology

About FSPP at National Louis University

The APA-Accredited Florida School of Professional Psychology PsyD program has a long and successful history of training graduates to engage the world as culturally competent health-service psychologists. The program employs a practitioner-scholar model and offers a curriculum designed to prepare clinicians who provide scientifically grounded, theoretically informed, and culturally responsive psychological services. Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Clinical Capstone sequence (Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation - CCE) for students completing intervention and diagnostic practicum experiences
  • Manage CCE training-related data
  • Lead a practicum seminar, including serving as chair for 6 or more CCE exams
  • Assist the Director of Internship with the internship process, including reviewing and editing CVs and cover letters, editing internship essays, and supporting the DIT through the internship process (summer to fall semesters)
  • Assist the Director of Practicum Training (DPT) with practicum site visits and new site recruitment and development (fall semester)
  • Assist the DPT in reviewing practicum application materials including CVs, writing samples, and cover letters (winter semester)
  • Teach 18 credits per year; develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught
  • Supervise doctoral dissertations and serve on dissertation committees
  • Participate in program assessment, student learning assessment, curriculum review, academic admissions processes, and other program activities
  • Attend and take minutes at Training Committee meetings
  • Participate in scholarly pursuits
Qualifications

  • PhD/PsyD from an APA-Accredited program
  • License-eligibility in Florida; psychology licensure within the first year of employment is required
  • Passion for teaching and experience in graduate clinical education and training
  • Strong ability to mentor graduate students, particularly non-traditional students
  • Adherence to the highest level of professional conduct and ethical standards
  • Graduate and post-graduate experience working with diverse client populations
  • Demonstrated participation in scholarly and/or professional activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
  • Professional experience in APA-Accredited practitioner-scholar academic or training a plus
