Primary Responsibility

Reporting to the Vice President of Investor Relations, this position is responsible for serving as a key collaborator and spokesperson in driving our investor relations program. The position serves as a liaison between senior executive management and the investment community ensuring fair dissemination of information critical to an investment. The role ensures management is continuously aware of potential areas of investor concerns and questions.

Function Specific Activities - The following is a list of top Function-Specific activities performed in the job.
  • Collaborate with the IRO, and other IR staff members to lead the creation of value-driver-based investment messages.
  • Serve as a key communicator to the global markets and explain the corporate strategy and how current market and performance conditions affect this strategy.
  • Predict and strategize with internal constituencies the investor's reaction to corporate announcements and market issues and take responsibility for shaping perceptions.
  • Work with internal teams to prepare top line messaging materials around key issues to be used in crafting releases and scripts along with developing Q&A, talking points or position statements for senior management around messages and issues that could significantly impact the short- and long-term valuation of KO stock.
  • Manage large-scale broker sponsored and company-sponsored analyst events, spearheading more intimate contact between top senior investment managers with multi-million share positions in KO stock.
  • Lead analysis of current and potential institutional ownership of the company's stock and create, and execute a plan to develop the optimal shareholder base for the company.
  • Guide and review the development of complex financial models for the Company to develop an internal strategic and competitive framework to better assess overall corporate performance relative to institutional investor expectations.
  • Work with internal financial communications and design individuals to ensure the creation and maintenance of high impact communications materials across a variety of vehicles.


Primary Internal and External Relationships
  • Internal contacts: IR Team, Offices of the CEO & President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Controllers Group, Securities and Finance Lawyer, Corporate Communications, leaders in operating divisions, and their staffs.
  • External contacts: top institutional investors and sell-side analysts (including security analysts, portfolio managers, directors of research, investment department heads, and strategists).

Education

Bachelor's Degree; CPA, CFA or MBA preferred

Related Work Experience

At least 10 years, preferably with at least 5 years of relevant banking or investor relations experience
