Shamin Hotels is Virginia’s largest hotel management company owning and operating over 70 hotels and we are continuing to grow We are looking to add a dynamic associate to our payroll team.
As one of our payroll clerks, you will ensure that all hotel accounting functions are performed accurately and on a timely basis. The Payroll Clerk will update payroll records as required (i.e. job title changes, pay actions, etc), calculating necessary deductions from pay for taxes, social security, unemployment, worker’s compensation, or other required deductions (such as health insurance, LWOP, etc.), maintain records, process W-2s to employees, and provide customer service to associates who call with payroll questions.

Pre-Payroll Activities including verifying accuracy of time and leave data, auditing timecards, ensuring payroll status change forms are received, calculating unemployment and severance payouts, etc. 
Payroll Processing including processing weekly payroll files and cutting checks timely, ensuring accuracy of all deductions, administer checks as needed, etc 
Customer Service including collaborating with HR to ensure compensation aligns with employment, handling associate concerns or questions about payroll, investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies, etc. 
Other duties including submitting new hire information online with VEC, maintaining payroll records, etc.

Strong knowledge of general accounting principles 
Strong computer skills including Excel
Knowledge of applicable payroll and accounting laws and regulations 
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finances, or related field preferred 
~3-5 years payroll administration experience preferred
~ Military experience and/or accounting experience may be substituted
