MedStar Health is actively seeking an ALS Paramedic who will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients with range of need from uncomplicated to complex during interfacility transport. In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based professional care and coordinates care delivery with the physician and other members of the healthcare team.

3,000 to start (paid at successful completion of orientation/probation)
$NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic Required
MedSTAR Transport” or “Mid Atlantic Air Transportation Services” affiliation as an EMT-Paramedic. Health Services\ACLS Required
Health Services\PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
TPATC - Transport Prof Adv Trauma Crse within 180 Days Required or
TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course within 180 Days Required or
No more than four points assigned to driver's license and must maintain a satisfactory driving record (no more than four points).
Completion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (e.g., li Based on assessment of physical, emotional, bio-physical, and spiritual needs, provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes. Clearly and accurately documents pertinent information in the patient's medical record. Delivers expert paramedic care in ambulances to multiple patient types to include adult subspecialties and pediatrics.
Collaborates with on line medical control physicians to manage the patient care of complex patients in transport.
Participates in the orientation program for new staff.
Participates in MedSTAR Transport safety program.


Successful completion of the Department of Transportation (DOT) module EMT-Paramedic course. Completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course prior to release from orientation. Basic computer skills preferred.
