Design and Release Engineer at Ford Motor Company Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more Responsibilities Perform WCCA for products utilizing engineering principles. Apply best practices, lessons learned and innovative design techniques to achieve a reliable product at a competitive cost. Review circuit schematics and PCB layout implementation using industry standard tools. Strive to simplify the design, make it easy to manufacture, mistake-proof, anticipate areas of large variation and maximize design robustness. Perform tolerance stack‑up/worst‑case circuit analyses (Extreme Value, RMS, or Monte Carlo as required). Capture and codify WCCA lessons learned. Perform power integrity (PDN, IRdrop) and signal integrity analysis as required. Generate professional reports and implement changes based on findings. Confer with other engineering and cross‑functional team members frequently to ensure all aspects of the design come together seamlessly. Participate in technical design reviews to ensure compliance with design requirements. Define stress‑test routines required to validate functional sections. Document failure modes and provide feedback to improve design requirements. Lead the resolution of functional abnormalities observed in module designs. Ensure Ford and industry lessons learned are documented in the associated quality history. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study 5+ years of experience in electronics circuit design, modeling and analysis, preferably in a high‑reliability industry (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.) Experience in electronic circuit disciplines and processes Experience with circuit analysis software tools, e.g., Mathcad, and simulation tools such as Spice, Saber, etc. Experience with vehicle communication protocols CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet Even better, you may have: 5+ years of experience in specialized complex hardware and embedded software systems Knowledgeable on microprocessors, solid‑state memory, cameras, displays and sensors Working knowledge of industry‑standard interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, Ethernet, LVDS, DDR, PCI, I2S, A2B, etc.) Experience working with test equipment (e.g., programmable power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic and network analyzers, temperature chambers, etc.) Proficient in simulation tools for signal integrity and power‑management circuitry Experience in specialized complex hardware and embedded software systems Familiar with automotive reliability requirements, and component selection for automotive electronics Familiar with automotive EMC requirements and good design practices for EMC‑robust design Ability to communicate effectively with business users and engineering professionals (globally distributed teams, adjusting communications for the audience, working with all levels of management and diverse work groups, etc.) Motivated and self‑starter Collaboration and leadership skills Seniority level Associate Employment type Full‑time Job function Engineering and Information Technology Industries Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Ford Motor Company by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
