**License:** Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
**Certifications:** RDMS by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
**Must-Have:** Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program with clinical and didactic education; proficiency in English (speak, read, write); Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
**Job Description:**
- Perform basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.
- Review doctors' interpretations and patient files, and monitor patients.
- Assist in the performance of interventional procedures.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and imaging techniques to optimize the quality of ultrasound images.
- Capture images onto PACS system and transfer images to physician workstations.
- Evaluate images prior to the release of patients to ensure the study is diagnostic.
- Prepare the exam room for procedures by ensuring all inventory and stock prior to arrival of radiologist.
- Participate in the performance and documentation of quality control, quality assurance, and improvement activities.
- Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment failure and document type of problem and any associated downtime.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment to comply with established infection control and departmental protocols.
- Operate and care for testing equipment.
- Provide patient education related to specific ultrasound study.
- Ensure the safety of patients and family members.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, family members, and other employees.
- Perform other related duties.
