Optometrist, Correctional Facility – California Health Care Facility Location: Stockton, CA (San Joaquin County) Job Type: Part‑time, Entry Level Base Pay Range: $44,900 - $59,530 (note: salary based on experience and skill) Job Description Under the general direction of the Receiver’s Medical Executive, the Optometrist, Correctional Facility conducts examinations of the eye using observation and instruments to determine visual acuity and perception, focus, and coordination to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities for the patient. The optometrist maintains order, supervises the conduct of incarcerated individuals, and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive eye examinations using observation and instruments. Diagnose and treat ocular diseases and abnormalities. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Supervise and coordinate with correctional staff to ensure safety. Provide patient education and counseling on eye health. Assist in rehabilitation and restorative justice programs. Qualifications Valid optometry license in the State of California. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the practice of optometry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
