Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Receiver’s Medical Executive, the Optometrist, Correctional Facility conducts eye examinations using observation and instruments to determine visual acuity, perception, focus, and coordination. The optometrist diagnoses eye diseases and abnormalities, maintains order, supervises the conduct of incarcerated persons, and protects the safety of persons and property. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid license to practice optometry in the State of California. At least two years of experience in the practice of optometry.
