Director of Annual Giving

The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive annual giving strategy to support Emma Willard School’s Annual Giving programs and alumnae participation goals. The Emma Fund is the annual giving program that helps support the financial health and sustainability of the school. The Director of Annual Giving will be a key contributor to: 1) building the annual fund pipeline, 2) determining the segmentation of donors, 3) implementing a crowdfunding platform, and 4) measuring the success of annual campaigns. They are expected to promote the mission and programs of Emma Willard School to the highest level to all Emma Fund donors. The position will report to the Director of Development and partner with our Alumni Relations team on creating an annual plan to promote giving in support of all Annual Giving programs and events. We seek someone who is committed to and willing to navigate today’s changing and diverse landscape. This individual will help the school promote and nurture an equitable and inclusive community. Key Areas Of Responsibility Develops, maintains, and executes Emma Willard’s annual giving plan and deploys marketing materials and strategies to execute a strong program to achieve annual goals for dollars and participation targets each year. In partnership with the Director of Development, plan, develop, edit and execute various annual giving appeals and programs such as the Fall and Spring Appeals, special parent solicitations, Reunion, and other annual giving project-based fundraising. Support the general annual fund initiatives, at the discretion of the Director of Development and Head of Advancement. Must demonstrate hands-on management skills with a successful track record in managing projects with cross-functional teams in a timely fashion and work seamlessly with the internal Communications team and external vendors as needed. Manage crowdfunding software to inspire and leverage specific donor segments and key fundraising initiatives. Ability to analyze data to determine success of programs/outcomes. Minimum Qualifications / Competencies Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant setting Strong written and oral communication skills (will request writing samples) Ability to travel on behalf of the school and/or attend events, programs as required Strong computer skills and experience with fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to think strategically and utilize data to analyze outcomes and determine program success Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies, including alumnae, parents, students, faculty, staff, and trustees Salary $85,000 - $105,000 based on education and experience We offer a competitive total compensation package in a stimulating and dynamic academic community.
