This position provides leadership for campus‑based program implementation, student support systems, staffing, and cross‑campus coordination to ensure a high‑quality, inclusive postsecondary experience for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Core Responsibilities In collaboration with the Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling Department Head and the Aggies Elevated Eastern Program Director, the Associate Director coordinates, implements, and evaluates program components that support student access, engagement, and success at the USU‑Main Campus. Coordinate logistics for participant application, interview, campus visit, and admissions processes. Coordinate housing assignments, course registration, and student onboarding in collaboration with Housing, Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid. Coordinate and participate in Base Camp orientation and summer preparation activities. Coordinate students' participation in USU 1010: Connections and other required campus experiences. Coordinate logistics for graduation and graduation celebrations. Serve as the primary Logan campus liaison to the Registrar, Disability Resource Center, Financial Aid, Housing, and other relevant campus partners. Recruit, train, supervise, and approve timecards for Logan‑based peer mentors and support staff. Provide training and supervision for Logan‑based graduate assistants, and student employees. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of student interactions, progress, and eligibility for continued participation. Maintain regular contact with students and evaluate and communicate progress at the end of each semester. Accurately represent Aggies Elevated program supports and parameters at transition fairs, campus tours, and family visits. Work closely with students and families from inquiry through graduation and post‑completion transition to support a successful educational experience. Recruit, orient, and evaluate qualified course instructors in collaboration with program leadership. Provide training to campus partners (e.g., Housing, faculty, student services) on Universal Design for Learning, disability culture, and inclusive practices. Monitor and administer program revenues and expenses under the direction of the Executive Director. Assist with grant development, reporting, and other fundraising activities as appropriate. Teach or co‑teach seminars, classes, and/or workshops aligned with Aggies Elevated curriculum and program needs. Collaborate with local school districts, LEAs, and community organizations to support student recruitment and transition. Responsibilities with Percent Allocation (Approximate) Program Coordination & Student Supports - 40-45% Coordinate and provide individualized student supports (academic, behavioral, independent living, social, and transition‑related). Maintain and strengthen campus and community partnerships. Supervise and support mentors, graduate assistants, and student employees. Maintain required documentation and student progress records. Program Operations, Outreach & Recruitment - 25-30% Coordinate admissions, orientation, Base Camp, and campus visit processes. Represent Aggies Elevated at transition fairs, recruitment events, and family meetings. Support cross‑campus alignment with Aggies Elevated Eastern. Teaching & Curriculum Support - 20-25% Teach or co‑teach courses, seminars, and workshops. Support curriculum development and Canvas course readiness. Administrative, Fiscal & Grant Support - 10% Assist with budget monitoring, reporting, grant writing, and data collection. Create and update program materials and reports. Reporting & Supervisory Responsibilities The Aggies Elevated Associate Director reports to the Special Education and Rehabilitation Counseling Department Head. This position provides functional supervision, training, and evaluation of Logan‑based staff, including graduate assistants, peer mentors, and other hourly or student employees, and works collaboratively with the Aggies Elevated Eastern Program Director to ensure curricular alignment across campuses. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a field related to developmental disabilities, including special education, rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, psychology, or related disciplines plus two years of relevant experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities; or a master’s degree in a field related to developmental disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or Doctorate degree in a field related to developmental disabilities, including special education, rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling, psychology, or related disciplines. Experience working in transition‑related services for youth or young adults with disabilities (e.g., VR, special education, ILCs, CRPs). Experience teaching or supporting instruction at the postsecondary level. Experience supervising other professionals or paraprofessionals. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of inclusive postsecondary education and transition services for students with disabilities. Knowledge of principles and practices related to program coordination and student support. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions with discretion. Ability to coordinate meetings, events, and multi‑departmental initiatives. Strong written and verbal professional communication skills. Ability to teach and support instruction in face‑to‑face, online, and broadcast formats. Proficiency with personal computers and related software applications. Ability to organize resources, establish priorities, and maintain accurate records. Ability to lead, train, and supervise staff and students. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Knowledge of communication, outreach, and recruitment strategies. Ability to gather, analyze, and report program data. High level of creativity, problem solving, judgment, and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
