Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Financial Analyst to join our investment team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in evaluating new real estate opportunities and managing existing investments. This position offers exposure to a wide array of real estate investment activities, including acquisitions, developments, asset management, and dispositions. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about the intricacies of real estate finance. Must have retail strip/power center experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Investment Analysis:
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment decisions for real estate acquisitions, developments, and dispositions.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities by analyzing cash flows, returns, and market data.
  • Asset Management:
  • Monitor and report on the performance of existing real estate assets, including financial performance, market trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist in the development and execution of value-add strategies for current investments.
  • Capital Structure Analysis:
  • Analyze and recommend optimal real estate capital structures, including debt and equity financing options.
  • Provide support in structuring and negotiating financing terms with lenders and investors.
  • Reporting & Communication:
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Communicate project status, financial results, and performance metrics effectively to senior leadership, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Market Research:
  • Conduct market research to assess economic, demographic, and competitive trends impacting real estate investments.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, emerging markets, and regulatory changes.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A degree from a top-tier business program is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate finance, investments, or a related field.
  • Exceptional proficiency in financial modeling and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for crafting clear and compelling materials.
  • Acute attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with real estate financial tools, such as Argus or similar software, is a plus.
