Job Summary
The Coordinator for Nursing Education coordinates the office functions for the manager and nurse educators. Assists with the completion of the Texas Nurses Association Continuing Education Providership. Coordinates the development of the application for the educational activities for the Department of Nursing.
Develops, coordinates and maintains established data gathering and tracking systems for benchmarking data purposes. Performs duties within approved practices and exercises independent judgment within pre-determined guidelines.
Minimum Job Requirements
Work Experience
Three years of increasingly responsible secretarial experience required, or equivalent office management experience.
License/Registration/Certification:
None
Education and Training
High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
Skills
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills and ability to work on issues of a sensitive nature.
- Strong organization skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and demands.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers; Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
