Application Support Specialist


Position Summary:

In this challenging position, the Application Support Specialist will be part of a larger team that takes ownership of the implementation, support, security, documentation, disaster recovery and maintenance of all firm software applications. The successful candidate will be experienced with application lifecycle management, data and application migrations, security, troubleshooting, error resolution and software installations and upgrades within on premise, hosted and cloud environments, In addition, this candidate will possess a high level of technical skills, the ability to manage projects, timelines, vendors and third party consultants. This candidate must enjoy staying abreast of new technologies, be able to take initiative and work outside of their comfort zone and have a passion for providing the best service to end users.

This candidate must be willing to work outside of their comfort zone and be able to manage an initiative from start to finish. In addition, the ideal candidate must have the desire to learn new technologies, work with professionals in a fast paced environment that want to make a positive impact on everything they touch.


General Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the firm's software applications
  • Understands end user requirements and provides guidance on software solutions
  • Coordinates, documents and manages software installations, configurations and upgrades
  • Verifies backups, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity plans
  • Remediates all security related issues identified and proactively applies to future implementations
  • Must be able to identify and implement resolutions for identified and reported security vulnerabilities while adhering to change control protocol
  • Maintains technical and business documentation for the firm's software applications
  • Prioritizes, identifies, researches and resolves technical problems and coordinates vendor support where necessary. This includes implementing a solution to prevent future occurrences
  • Looks for areas of opportunity to improve business efficiencies
  • Provides after hours rolling on call support
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment


Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year experience in an Application Support role
  • Intermediate level of SQL knowledge (CRUD operations)
  • Proven record of installing and upgrading enterprise software
  • Experience migrating on premise software solutions to cloud and SaaS
  • Understand hardware requirements, write technical specifications and documentation
  • Experience with Root-Cause and Logical analysis
  • Proficient understanding and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multitask and bring assigned tasks to completion on time
  • Basic Scripting Knowledge using PowerShell, Python, VBA
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate, SSIS, Boomi and Sharepoint a plus
  • Software Development and Cloud experience a plus
  • Prior experience in legal or professional services preferred
