Human Resources Manager

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay Rate: $32 - $37/hr


An outstanding non-profit organization is looking to hire an HR Manager on a temp-to-perm basis to join their New York, NY office. This person will oversee the human resources department and ensure that all HR operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-state payroll management, employee relations, and policy creation. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to handling HR-related matters.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-state payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance management.
  • Coordinate employee training programs on HR policies, compliance, and workplace conduct.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, including candidate sourcing and interviewing.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and ensure accurate enrollment and communication.
  • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior management on employee retention and development strategies.
  • Maintain HR records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience in employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and payroll software.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
