Key Responsibilities of the Title Clerk:

  • Title Processing: Process and review vehicle title paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Agency Coordination: Submit and follow up on title applications with state agencies.
  • Regulation Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding vehicle titles.
  • Department Coordination: Work closely with the sales and finance departments to gather necessary documentation.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all title transactions and related documents.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve any title issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Customer Assistance: Assist customers with title-related inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of changes in title regulations and procedures.


Qualifications of the Title Clerk:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Title Clerk, in an automotive dealership, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Multitasking Ability: Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and dealership management software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused attitude.
