We are looking for a Project Manager with a strong background in electrical and field-based work to join our solar energy company in Orlando, Florida. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, thrives in the field, and has a solid understanding of electrical systems. The Project Manager will oversee solar projects from conception to completion, managing on-site teams, ensuring quality control, and driving projects to successful outcomes. We offer relocation assistance for the right candidate who is looking to move to the Orlando area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage solar projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Lead on-site teams, ensuring proper coordination between electricians, installers, and subcontractors.
- Provide hands-on oversight of electrical and installation work to ensure it meets industry standards and company requirements.
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure on-time, on-budget completion of projects.
- Act as a primary point of contact between the company, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and problem-solving.
- Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to ensure work complies with safety regulations, electrical codes, and project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during project execution, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines.
- Work closely with engineering and procurement teams to ensure all materials and resources are available and meet project needs.
- Manage project documentation, including reports, schedules, and progress updates, for internal and client-facing purposes.
- Coordinate with the Electrical Superintendent and other team leaders to ensure seamless workflow between the field and office teams.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction, electrical, or renewable energy sectors, with a strong emphasis on field-based work.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and solar energy installations.
- Hands-on experience in project management, with the ability to lead by example and support teams in the field.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Ability to travel to project sites and work closely with on-site teams as needed.
- Willingness to relocate to the Orlando area (relocation assistance provided).
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred but not required).
