We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with 1-4 years of experience to support our project team in the execution of ground-up commercial construction projects. In this role, you will assist in coordinating day-to-day project activities, managing schedules, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.


You are NOT qualified for this position if:

  • You have an IT background
  • You do not have commercial construction experience
  • You have not worked as an Assistant Project Manager/Construction Project Engineer/ Construction Project Coordinator or in the construction industry
  • You require sponsorship


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project manager in overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of ground-up commercial construction projects, including office buildings, retail centers, and industrial facilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
  • Help monitor project schedules, track milestones, and assist in resolving issues to maintain project timelines.
  • Assist with procurement, including obtaining quotes, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Review plans and specifications, and assist in managing changes to scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Help with documentation, including maintaining project records, submittals, RFIs (requests for information), and change orders.
  • Support the preparation of project reports, financial tracking, and progress updates for internal and client review.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend project meetings and assist in the preparation of meeting agendas and minutes.


Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience in construction management or project coordination, preferably in ground-up commercial construction.
  • Knowledge of project management tools, construction scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
