As the HR & Payroll Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting our firm’s growth by managing HR functions with a focus on exceptional service and clear communication. You’ll oversee everything from payroll administration to recruitment, employee benefits, and HR policy development.


About the Role

  • Payroll Administration: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, working closely with the finance team to maintain compliance with tax and labor laws.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process from job postings to candidate screening, interviews, and seamless onboarding of new hires.
  • Employee Relations: Be the go-to point of contact for employee inquiries, conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work culture that aligns with our core values.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure the firm’s compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Keep our Employee Handbook up to date and ensure policies are effectively communicated to all staff.
  • Benefits Administration: Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other firm-sponsored benefits, and assist employees with any related questions.
  • Performance & Development: Assist with performance review processes, provide guidance to managers, and help identify opportunities for staff development and training.
  • Data-Driven HR: Track key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, employee satisfaction) and provide management with reports to guide strategic decision-making.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with technology, including HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and related tools.
  • Certification from SHRM, PHR, or another relevant organization is a plus.
