The Resource Planning Manager is a key part of the division Operations leadership group and is responsible for overseeing the Woodside production system for the division. This role manages the tactical & strategic work of daily schedule maintenance and the starts cadence and construction schedules in conjunction with Trade Partner capacity.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Even Flow Starts Management: determine the cadence at which homes will start on a weekly basis to deliver the business plan.
  • Communicate the cadence and slotting schedule to Trade Partners and internal Woodside team.
  • Ensure that all new lots are started in JDE and BuildPro at an even pace in alignment with the slotting schedule
  • Construction Schedule & Trade Partner Capacity Management
  • Collaborate with Operations team and Trade Partners on the creation, optimization, and management of templates & schedules, resulting in full ownership of the scheduling process.
  • Forward thinking on cycle time and how to continually improve operations processes to meet and exceed cycle time goals.
  • Reporting, Constraint Identification, & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with Operations team and Trade Partners to maintain and optimize schedule templates. Collaborate and action plan on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide weekly reporting to division leadership identifying Trade Partner capacity issues, constraints, and trends as soon as issues are seen, including buffer status.
  • Participate in financial forecasting and provide information to senior management for the annual business plan and monthly forecasting of sales, starts and closings.


Education/Experience:


  • Background or field of study in construction or a related industry preferred
  • 5+ years of experience building homes
  • Demonstrated understanding of residential construction techniques and scheduling
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality or productivity
  • Familiarity with software scheduling tools (i.e., Hyphen, Constellation, Microsoft, etc.)

  • Experience and Proficiency with JD Edwards One World or other similar software a must.
  • Familiarity with Sales Simplicity, Envision and Hyphen Solutions BuildPro.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
