Join our dynamic People/HR Division as part of the Absence and Return Team In this role, you will take ownership of managing employee leave claims from start to finish, focusing on a comprehensive approach that ensures employee safety, minimizes lost time, and promotes proactive return-to-work strategies. You'll be instrumental in supporting both employees and the company through non-occupational leave programs and efficient claim management.
What You'll Do
- Manage FMLA claims by establishing cases, tracking documentation, and following internal processes.
- Analyze FMLA claims to ensure eligibility and compliance with federal/state regulations and company policies.
- Maintain clear and concise communication with employees regarding case decisions and ongoing expectations.
What You'll Need for Success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
- 2 years of experience in disability management or FMLA administration is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of State and City Ordinance mandated leave plans is a plus.
- Ability to take on additional projects as team dynamics and workload shift.
- Familiarity with timekeeping systems and payroll cycles.
Skills and Certifications:
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent time management abilities.
- Critical thinking skills to help employees find leave solutions while balancing business needs.
- Ability to manage multiple employee cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business units, People Business Partners (PBP), union representatives, and leave management experts.
- Respect for confidentiality regarding employee absences.
- Adaptability to new technologies and internal process changes.
- Team player mindset with a commitment to fostering a respectful work environment.
