Endurance Equipment LLC is a leader in Woodyard Technology and Equipment for Sawmills, OSB Facilities, Biomass Woodyards and Pulp/Paper Mills. The company was formed in 2009. Endurance Equipment LLC is seeking a Project / Design Engineer to join our Endurance team in the Irvington, AL office. Reporting to the Endurance Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be part of an experienced heavy equipment and machinery design team supporting the forest products industry. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-discipline team designing custom equipment for the forest products industry. Supporting the development of purchase, fabrication and installation quality documents. Working closely with intercompany team and alliance vendors to develop high performing and cost competitive solutions to meet our customers capital project demands.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan and schedule project deliverables from sales drawings and specifications;
  • Perform calculations to validate sales specs, select power transmission components and size steel members;
  • Coordinate with customers regarding design reviews and approval packages;
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to designers;
  • Conduct and participate in 3D model reviews and other quality processes;
  • Provide technical support during fabrication and installation of new equipment;
  • Field measure of existing facilities;
  • All other duties as requested.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Or Equivalent);
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in machinery and equipment engineering/design with preferred emphasis in forest products industry.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of bulk material handling systems;
  • Knowledge and application of common structural steel shapes and other construction materials;
  • Knowledge and application of steel fabrication techniques and methods;
  • Knowledge and application of power transmission components;
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and control devices;
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks;
  • Knowledge of design and CAD drafting standards;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and/or Solidworks;
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Virtual team and relationship development skills;
  • Able to work minimal to no supervision.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time;
  • Ability to Climb stairs and ladders.
