POSITION SUMMARY

As a pivotal member of our team, the Senior Manager of Commercial Finance reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role will be critical in driving and supporting the financial activities related to commercial and operational side of the business and will include (not limited to) Sales, Procurement/Supply Chain, Retail, and various other organizational functions. In essence, this role involves daily engagement with commercial and operational teams, providing financial counsel and direction.


Responsibilities includes not limited to strategic planning, forecasting, pricing, discounting, promotions, and SKU-level cost of goods sold analysis. Additionally, the role encompasses assortment strategies, ROI evaluations for product/SKU additions or eliminations, M&A support, profitability analysis at category and retail store levels, SG&A cost management, and corporate development initiatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with sales, procurement/supply chain, pricing, marketing, retail, and other units to offer financial guidance and support, assessing the financial implications of various initiatives and market expansion opportunities.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and oversee financial plans, forecasts, and budgets for commercial aspects, analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and metrics to measure financial performance, monitoring performance against targets and recommending corrective actions.
  • Pricing and Cost Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of pricing and cost strategies to optimize revenue and profitability, conducting pricing analysis and evaluating competitive dynamics.
  • Forecasting: Work closely with relevant teams to develop accurate revenue and cost forecasts, incorporating business drivers into forecast models.
  • Financial Modeling: Build financial models to assess the impact of various scenarios and strategic initiatives, including scenario analysis and investment appraisals.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Prepare and present financial reports and insights to senior management and stakeholders, including monthly/quarterly financial reviews and variance analysis.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, coaching, and support to finance professionals, driving performance and professional growth when needed.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks associated with commercial activities, developing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute financial insights and recommendations to the development of the company's overall strategic plan, addressing commercial opportunities and challenges.
  • Due Diligence: Participate in due diligence processes and liaise with internal and external teams.
  • Analytical Projects: Undertake ad hoc analytical projects as required to support business objectives.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: More than 10 years in Financial Planning and Analysis, with over 3 years of relevant commercial finance experience.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrates maturity, ability to work across functions and present to various levels of leadership.
  • Independence and Judgment: Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound judgment, and solve complex problems.
  • Time Management: Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks efficiently against tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work in diverse environment, effectively interacting with team members across multiple groups and regions, fostering a positive attitude and maturity in handling complex situations.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel-based financial modeling skills are essential.
  • Transformation Exposure: Ability to work in a business going through transformation
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Must be 21 years or older with the ability to pass a criminal background check.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Background in Operational Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Investment Banking or Corporate FP&A.
  • Certifications: MBA, CFA, or CPA qualifications are desirable.
