Position Overview:

Our full-time specialist will prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies and communicate with patients and medical professionals regarding billing matters and protocols. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.  Medical benefits, generous PTO and 401k available.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•      Gaining a full understanding of the new medical billing platform - Athena

•      Review and submit all insurance claims on a daily basis

•      Work to correct all insurance claim rejections and denials as well as oversee all appeals.

•      Accurately and timely record all insurance write offs

•      Assist with Prior-Authorizations, referrals and Physician orders as needed

•      Assist with front desk responsibilities, as needed

•      Maintain and report on all patient and insurance company Accounts Receivable

•      Work closely with staff accountant to ensure all insurance and patient payments are accurately reflected in the

monthly financial statements

•      Collaborate with patients, vendors, third party institutions and others as necessary to resolve billing

inconsistencies and errors

•      Data entry payment information or other financial data into an individual client account

•      Work with patients or customers to help those who may need financial or payment assistance

•      Inform patients or customers of missed or upcoming payment deadlines

·      Manage the credentialing process for All Ears Center’s private and government sponsored insurance plans

·      Maintain strict confidentiality, including adherence to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

·      Complete other duties and projects as assigned by management, including training and supervision of medical

receptionist


Job Requirements:

·      High School Diploma or Equivalent/GED

·      5 plus years medical billing experience

·      Relevant experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance a plus

·      Proficient in Microsoft applications, EMR (Athena preferred), and data entry

·      Strong understanding of relevant laws and best practices and specific policies, including but not limited to HIPAA regulations

·      Pleasant and assertive personality, performing positively even when under pressure

·      Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately

·      Strong work ethic and attention to detail

·      Highly organized and capable of effective prioritization and multi-tasking

·      Flexible and calm demeanor

·      Bilingual, Spanish-speaking, a plus
