**Mission:**

As the primary Application Engineering Contact, the Application Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless collaboration between Nidec and its customers. Upholding our ethical code and company profile, the Application Engineer provides crucial support in terms of application and product specifications, guiding product strategy development to bolster our technical leadership. With a keen sense of urgency and exceptional technical prowess, the Application Engineer strategically plans routines, identifies opportunities to enhance contribution margin and market share, and strives for optimal results in every endeavor.


**Main Responsibilities:**

- Approve and implement changes in products with customers, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.

- Support customers in their developments by recommending optimal compressors tailored to their applications, ensuring optimal performance and mutual benefit.

- Align customer cooling requirements with R&D efforts to ensure success in future project developments.

- Optimize sample processes between customers and Nidec to align priorities effectively.

- Identify development opportunities through customer, application, and market feedback, driving technological leadership and innovation.

- Identify new business opportunities by staying informed about relevant customer plans and projects to increase market share.

- Provide support for other areas of the company such as Sales, Quality, and Cooling to achieve optimal results.

- Support on-site QA issues and TDA with customers, ensuring swift resolution and customer satisfaction.

- Support on-site improvement ideas with customers, facilitating continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

- Support customers with innovative product ideas while aligning with Nidec's interests.

- Understand customer portfolios and strategies through frequent meetings, leveraging insights to protect market share.

- Coordinate with Production and QA teams to ensure successful pilot runs and customer approvals.

- Realize critical analysis of customer approval plans to optimize processes and implementation.

- Represent internally the interests of customers, ensuring optimal service delivery and fostering mutual trust.

- Guarantee efficient use of economic resources in line with Nidec policies, contributing to goal achievement.

- Support customer quarterly reviews to maximize R&D performance and exceed expectations.

- Learn competitors' strengths and weaknesses to inform strategic decisions.

- Travel to assigned accounts and new OEMs to develop and maintain commercial relationships.

- Travel abroad to Nidec and customer plants as required (valid passport required).


**Requirements:**

- Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Hard Skills:

 - Knowledge in thermodynamics

 - Knowledge in compressors & refrigeration systems

 - Negotiation techniques and problem-solving skills

 - Good technical writing ability

- Soft Skills:

- Technology Skills: Proficiency in computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint)


**Language Skills:**

- Minimum requirement: English

- Desirable: Spanish/Bilingual
