Job Summary
Responsible for creating, planning, coordinating, managing, and executing various events to support the University Medical Center Foundation of El Paso (UMCF) and El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation’s (EPCHF) mission, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives. Collaborates with Foundation Associates, hospitals, the Board of Directors, and others to create memorable experiences for donors, volunteers, and community members. May require to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required by the event schedule. Travel may be required.
Skills
1. Strong organizational, time-management skills and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences (including Associates, volunteers, donors, and external partners) and create compelling event experiences.
3. Ability to work independently, build relationships, and work effectively in a team environment, as well as work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
4. Strong knowledge of event planning best practices, processes, and industry trends.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and event management software.
6. Strong commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit organization, passion for the cause and a genuine interest in and commitment to the nonprofit's mission and goals.
Work Experience
Five years of experience in event planning and management, preferably with a nonprofit organization or similar organization.
License/Registration/Certification
None.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Communications, Hospitality, Event Management or a related field is required.
