Clinical Laboratory Technician

At NorthBay Health the Clinical Laboratory Technician works under the supervision of the Supervisor, Laboratory Director, and Medical Director and under the direct supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist on duty. The Clinical Laboratory Technician performs automated laboratory testing in those sections of the laboratory to which assigned according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Some college desirable.
Licensure:
- A Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) certificate or higher Phlebotomy (CPA) or Laboratory license (MLT/CLS) or Trainee License issued by the state of California.
Experience:
- Four or more years’ experience as a California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or II) in an acute care hospital or 1 year of experience of training in the technician role.
- Higher level licensure qualifies in lieu of four years’ experience.
Skills:
- Phlebotomy.
- Basic medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills.
- Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with co-workers, patients, physicians, volunteers and hospital staff. Compensation:
Hourly Salary Range Min $32.09 - Max $ 35.38 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
