At NorthBay Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing, interpreting, and reporting accurate and timely laboratory testing in the sections of the laboratory assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Testing and Reporting: Perform and interpret laboratory tests in accordance with standard operating procedures and policies, and in compliance with state and federal laboratory regulations.
- Supervision: Supervise technicians and other non-independent practitioners as needed.
- Critical Thinking and Judgment: Use critical thinking skills and make independent judgments based on knowledge of laboratory medicine and disease processes.
- Education: Graduation from an approved school of medical technology is required, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist License is required. ASCP or equivalent certification is desired. Must meet state and federal requirements for supervising the performance of high complexity laboratory testing.
- Experience: Three years of experience as a registered technologist in an acute care hospital is desired.
- Skills: Phlebotomy, basic medical terminology, typing, math, and computer skills are required. Ability to work independently and demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in various age groups.
Based on years of experience: $59.79-$69.23 per hour. 10% differential for per diem shifts. Noc shift: $11.20 per hour. Evening shift: $5.58 per hour. Weekend shift: $1.40 per hour.
