Project Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in manufacturing and project management to oversee complex industrial projects from inception to launch. This role requires expertise in budget management, scheduling, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.


This role is onsite in Portland, Oregon.


Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee engineering and planning efforts for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives, regulatory bodies, project management teams, and production groups to ensure project success.
  • Develop and review detailed object designs, including technical specifications, general arrangements, and system configurations.
  • Approve construction drawings, specifications, and other technical data to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Submit applications to regulatory bodies such as ABS and USCG, obtaining all necessary certifications and documentation on schedule.
  • Manage project schedules, provide monthly updates, and perform financial and budget reviews for assigned projects.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, tracking significant construction milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with external engineering firms, subcontractors, owner representatives, and internal departments.


Project Manager Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a project manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in budget management, scheduling, and ERP systems (e.g., Vista Viewpoint preferred but not required).
  • Strong knowledge of ABS/AISC rules and USCG regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and other relevant software tools.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a professional demeanor.


Technical Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Access: 1 year (required).
  • Microsoft Project: 1 year (required).
  • Project management tools: 1 year (required).
  • Organizational skills: 1 year (required).


Preferred:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in shipyards or marine commercial fabrication.
  • Familiarity with heavy structural steel fabrication techniques and processes.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or CPM).


Salary: $125k-150k/year. (DOE)
