Principal Scientist

BioTalent has partnered with a biotechnology business based in San Diego who are looking for a Principal Scientist with a focus on proteomics.
This is an ideal position for an expert in proteomics that is keen to work within an innovative organisation with potential to grow into a line management role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative techniques for the preparation of peptide libraries from the digestion of proteins isolated from a diverse set of sample inputs.
- Utilize a range of techniques, including chemical synthesis, mass spectroscopy, and molecular biology, to prepare proteins and peptides from different samples.
- Optimize existing and develop new protein library preparation methods to ensure reproducibility, robustness, and scalability.
- Analyze complex scientific data using statistical methods and software tools to make data-driven decisions, continually enhancing protocols and system performance.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Proteomics, Analytical Chemistry or related field.
- Extensive experience in proteomics, specifically with protein variants, post-translational modification (PTM), immunopeptidomics, protein quantitation, and biomarker discovery.
- Experience with various proteomic methods, such as gel electrophoresis and liquid chromatography (LC-MS/MS, MALDI-TOF)
- Strong analytical aptitude with expertise in data interpretation and statistical analysis.
