Position Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership to Legner Energy’s safety management program, offering hands-on field leadership and execution, as well as developing a safety management strategy. This includes developing, refining, and overseeing Legner Energy’s safety processes and practices consistent with management’s principles, philosophy, and regulatory requirements.
Key Qualification

Key Responsibilities
- Develop (if needed) and provide a variety of employee classroom safety training, including initial employee onboarding, client-specific Safety Awareness, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and select MSHA-related training as required by individual customers.
- Perform job site analysis to document current working and environmental conditions, as necessary, and as contractually responsible, to ensure a safe working environment. Based on conditions, identify potential hazards and develop an effective and comprehensive hazard mitigation plan for the pending work. Communicate this plan to the work team and the client, if required.
- Perform field audits of employee work areas, documenting current conditions, potential hazards, and employee safety knowledge, execution, and compliance. - Maintain all safety-related records, OSHA 300 logs, etc., for the company and its individual entities as required.
- Proactively manage employee injuries and near misses, including conducting detailed incident investigations to determine root cause(s). Document all findings and conclusions, and communicate this information to management and the workforce to educate employees and prevent recurrence of incidents.
- Submit, as required by individual clients, all applicable safety-related information—including near miss reports, accident and vehicle incident investigations—to the appropriate reporting entities and/or databases within required timeframes.
- Understand applicable external regulatory agency reporting requirements and ensure compliance for all applicable employee injuries and/or fatalities. Maintain constant communication with the appropriate agency until all required reporting is completed.
- Ensure appropriate safety processes and procedures are in place for all work performed by Legner Energy employees. Where no process or practice exists, develop and communicate appropriate processes and practices.
