Safety Clerk

Louisville, KY

Monday- Thursday 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Friday 7 AM - 3:30 PM

$15/hr.

Temp to Hire

About the Safety Clerk Duties:

  • Keeps current on new ideas and techniques in accident prevention and risk management.
  • Conducts safety meetings monthly and quarterly for employees and office staff.·
  • Maintains all records.
  • Performs accident investigations, monitors and processes worker’s compensation claims, and coordinates loss prevention activities.
  • Continually review our processes from the lens of safety to improve operations, decrease safety concerns and work cooperatively with local safety committees.
  • Interprets rules, regulations and procedures for management and employees.
  • Keeps current on OSHA standards and regulations, activities and recent decisions that might affect policies and programs through reading government and professional publications and attending seminars.
  • Reports to the Safety Manager, coordinating and supervising OSHA and insurance audits.
  • Administers new safety orientation.

Safety Clerk Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Environmental and OSHA regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking in front a large audience.
  • Highly organized and meticulous.
  • Above average computer skills including MS Office 365.
  • Excellent leadership and critical thinking traits.
  • Knowledge of current and pending OSHA regulations.
