Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical testing, particularly on medium voltage equipment, and possess either a NETA certification or a Journeyman or Master Electrician License. The Electrical Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems, including medium voltage equipment such as switchgear, transformers, relays, and circuit breakers.
- Conduct electrical testing, including insulation resistance testing, power factor testing, and circuit breaker testing, in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Identify and diagnose electrical issues, malfunctions, and failures, and implement corrective actions to resolve them promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to procure materials, parts, and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards, such as NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA, while performing maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory levels using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other relevant tools.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members, including training and mentoring junior technicians as needed.
- Participate in emergency response and outage restoration efforts as required, including after-hours and on-call responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
- NETA Level II or III certification highly desired; Journeyman or Master Electrician License also acceptable.
- Proficiency in electrical testing techniques and equipment, such as insulation resistance testers, power analyzers, and circuit breaker analyzers.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment, including medium voltage distribution systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance management and recordkeeping.
