Mergers and Acquisitions Associate Attorney

Williams Mullen is seeking a mid-to-senior level associate attorney with at least 4 years of mergers and acquisitions and/or energy transactional experience to join our expanding and dynamic Renewable Energy team based in our Tysons, Virginia office. The ideal candidate will:
- Support and manage transactions in the energy space (power and renewable) from deal inception through closing.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including partners, legal teams and outside counsel to ensure a successful deal.
- Perform due diligence
- Prepare legal opinions regarding M&A and energy transactions
Job Requirements:
- Must have at least 4 years of experience with mergers and acquisitions with energy transactional matters preferred, including: project development, project acquisitions/divestitures, project financings, negotiating and drafting agreements.
- Experience with energy regulatory issues, including cases before state energy regulatory/public utilities’ commissions, is a plus.
- A successful candidate will possess the ambition to excel and enjoy working in a small-office environment with the benefits of large-firm resources and cross-office engagement. We offer the ability to own a project from beginning to end while also getting to work on multiple other projects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to assume individual responsibility for client matters. Also have the drive and energy to take initiative to advance projects, solve problems and pay attention to details.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
- Must be currently licensed in Virginia, eligible to immediately waive into Virginia, or be a member of the bar in one or more US Jurisdictions and willing to sit for the Virginia bar.
