Job Description

Georgia Tech Sports Medicine is currently seeking to fill the following Certified Intern Athletic Trainer positions:

  • Immediate hire for spring of 2025
  • Multiple for 2025-2026 school year 


The duties of these positions will include, but are not limited to, providing prevention and care of injuries, development and implementation of rehabilitation programs, maintaining medical records including documentation of injuries and treatments, scheduling medical appointments, sports coverage for practice and games which will require travel, and assisting with administrative duties. 


Expectations

  • Display the ability to represent the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in a professional manner at all times.
  • Demonstrate competent practice through compliance with ethical, legal, and other professional standards to maximize the quality of care and ensure that the needs of student-athletes requiring healthcare services can be addressed appropriately.
  • Possess excellent oral/ written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and time management as well as the ability to work with electronic medical record keeping systems.
  • Assist in the supervision and education of undergraduate athletic training students.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures and backgrounds. 
  • Must be able to work weekend and non-traditional work hours.
  • Must be able to lift and move approximately 50 pounds due to the physical demands of the position.


Job Duration 

  • 12 months typically beginning in July 


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Possess BOC certification prior to start date
  • Possess or be eligible for Athletic Training licensure in Georgia
  • CPR/AED certification for the professional rescuer
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree related field
  • Previous experience in intercollegiate and/or professional athletics.
  • Certification in manual therapy or instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization techniques.
  • Demonstrated pervious leadership and critical thinking skills
