Ensemble™ Foods is a newly formed company on a mission to revolutionize the world of plant-based meat alternatives. Our product is made using only 5 main ingredients and does not require any type of refrigeration. Our vision is simple: Providing affordable plant-based products to support feeding the world sustainably. Ensemble Foods is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tereos, a global leader in food ingredients. We have operations, distribution and sales throughout Europe and have also been expanding into North America and Asia for the last year and a half. As we are expanding our team, we are looking for a Business Development Manager, responsible for identifying new clients/opportunities, cultivating leads and closing sales deals. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Work client leads through the sales funnel process, ultimately closing sales deals by securing purchase orders.  
  • Seek out new clients and establish business relationships. 
  • Travel across the United States to conduct in-person demonstrations of our products with key potential partners.
  • Leverage existing client contacts to build opportunities and ultimately, sales. 
  • Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential clients and growth. 
  • Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods. 
  • Provide input on and influence how to improve the sales strategy. 
  • Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business. 
  • Have a strong understanding of Ensemble products, business position and the competitive landscape. 
  • Ensure end-to-end servicing of the clients. 

 

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • High school diploma/GED required. 
  • Degree in marketing, business or similar area preferred. 
  • Experience in selling in the food services industry is preferred. 
  • Experience in and/or affinity for plant-based food is a clear plus.
  • Having a strong interest in cooking is mandatory (being able to conduct demonstrations in professional kitchens in front of experienced chefs).
  • Interest in traveling.
  • Food logistics sales are a plus.

  • Understanding of sales optimization tools, the sell-through process and logistics 
  • Strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Proactive, self-starter with an entrepreneurial / “start-up” mind-set.
