Position Description:

Designs, develops, implements, and manages Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments running Fidelity's XTRAC workflow solutions with WebSphere, TcServer, and Apache. Provides support and solutions to software development teams to improve processes and techniques using Java, SQL, and scripting languages including bash/ksh). Deploys, monitors, and troubleshoots customer environments uses WebSphere, TcServer, and Apache.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops internet-based applications that operate in a client/server environment.
  • Identifies departmental needs and makes suggestions regarding technical direction.
  • Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Develops and oversees software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation.
  • Documents enterprise best practices.
  • Creates and provides best practices to the organization for DevOps, SecOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure.
  • Develops tools and scripts to improve efficiency of operational tasks.
  • Develops internet-based applications operating in a client/server (Linux) environment.
  • Identifies departmental needs and makes suggestions regarding technical direction.
  • Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers.
  • Designs systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Builds process automation tools and technologies that drive process improvements.
  • Designs, implement and maintain AWS infrastructure including operation, security and compliance aspects.
  • Creates process to perform continuous deployment, including full orchestration of deployment process.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal DevOps Engineer (or closely related occupation) deploying, monitoring, and administrating software infrastructure using Jenkins and Ansible.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal DevOps Engineer (or closely related occupation) deploying, monitoring, and administrating software infrastructure using Jenkins and Ansible.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) supporting and deploying web application servers into production -- WebLogic, JBOSS, Apache, Tomcat, or Apache HTTPD servers; and deploying artifacts to application servers and automating deployments in lower environments.
  • DE establishing infrastructure using AWS services including EC2, Elastic container services (ECS), IAM, RDS, and Lambda; creating AWS Launch configurations based on customized AMI and employing launch configuration to configure auto scaling groups; and implementing AWS solutions using CloudFormation and Elastic Load Balancer.
  • DE automating End-to-End Continuous Integration/Deployment/Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines; building a CI server using Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, or GIT; and storing and retrieving build artifacts using Jfrog Artifactory.
  • DE driving microservices builds using Maven, Dockerfile, and Jenkins; building to Docker registry and deploying to Kubernetes; creating and coordinating Pods using Kubernetes; building Production Grade Kube Clusters using kops; and configuring and automating repetitive tasks for quick deployment of critical applications using Ansible.
