Business Development Associate
A leading private equity firm focused on technology companies is looking to bring on a business development associate to identify and build relationships with senior leaders at companies that might be potential investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development : Proactively identify and evaluate potential technology company investment opportunities by conducting market research, industry analysis, and tracking emerging trends in the tech space.
- Lead Generation: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential deals through networking, attending industry events, and leveraging existing relationships within the tech and venture capital ecosystems.
- Outreach & Relationship Building: Develop relationships with founders, executives, and intermediaries to generate investment leads and create opportunities for the firm. This includes cold outreach, calls, and meetings.
- Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor trends, valuations, and M&A activity in the tech sector to inform sourcing efforts and ensure the firm remains competitive.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of sourcing activity and deal flow within the firm's CRM system, ensuring all leads and prospects are tracked efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or a related field with a focus on the technology sector.
- Strong knowledge of the tech industry, including emerging trends, key players, and market dynamics.
- Demonstrated experience in generating and qualifying investment leads.
- Exceptional communication and networking skills; ability to engage with senior executives and build relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to assess financial statements, market data, and company fundamentals.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to deal sourcing and a track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
