The office is seeking an individual with excellent organizational, data entry, social and communication skills to fill a position. The selected candidate will be assigned to work as a fingerprint classification clerk.

Job Description:

The rapid and accurate entry of personal identifying information and supporting data for processing of applicants for a fingerprint based national criminal history check.

To enter, edit and delete data residing within the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) system and Federal criminal history databases.

Operation of an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Livescan machine.

Processing of applicant criminal history inquiries, to include but not limited to marijuana cultivators through the use of the AFIS Client Workstation.

Scanning and biographical data entry for fingerprints that are submitted by mail from out-of-state applicants and to update that information in the CCH database.

Operation of BCI’s Quick Search two finger scan, a process for matching a two-finger scan with an existing ten print fingerprint card in the AFIS system.

To have a knowledge and understanding of all State statutes that require a National Background fingerprint check and understand what may constitute disqualifying information.

To be familiar with all FBI policies and procedures that have a direct impact on the Central Repository record of the State of Rhode Island.

Customer service at BCI’s front window, including the processing of State criminal history checks (non-fingerprint based).
